This is all so true. I used to say that when our kids are small we have this mama instinct for when they are out of the safe zone around us. When they are teenagers you feel that distance too but it’s an emotional space. They truly wanted to be pulled back in close but don’t know how to say so. At my son’s wedding last month he said in his speech that his dad and I were the definition of unconditional love. We’ve been through so much and the biggest compliment was that he said I know how to love when things are hard. So, hang in there parents, they truly do see you.
